This month’s top five releases come courtesy of HARO founder Peter Shankman, who dropped into PRWeb to wish us happy holidays. He’s a huge fan of skilful self-promotion – so what on PRWeb caught his eye?

Florida Guide to Best Restaurants Is Not Only For Gourmet Food Lovers and Florida Tourists
As a guy who’s rarely in the same town for more than a week, I appreciate insider knowledge on where to eat locally – so I had to rate this optimized, link-packed release about a Florida food blog that points readers towards the best spots to grab a steak, breakfast, or even the best blueberry pancakes in Fort Pierce.

Dick Vitale Announces Launch of Sports Fan Toolbar
When not shouting his awesome catchphrases to an audience of millions, college basketball icon Dick Vitale is in the business of creating Internet toolbars that keep you up to speed with the latest sports results. Did you know that? I didn’t. Now that’s a talent he should promote more.
“I created this toolbar for all my fans out there so that they are always on top of the most exciting news from the world of sports,” he explains. “I’ve got to tell you—it’s awesome baby!” And you know what – he’s right.

Now Available: The 40:40 Principle
Just like in social media, success in life is all about building the right relationships. For self-help author Andy Christiansen, it’s about building them with people the other side of age 40 from you. Not sure about the theory, but I agree with Andy’s very quotable quote: “Strategic, intentional relationships with wise, trustworthy people of all ages are the key ingredient to achieving success in life.”

Darren Campo’s “Alex Detail’s Revolution” Promotional Event, 10,000 Book Giveaway Sponsored by Amazon.com, is in Full Effect
I’m a huge believer in helping yourself by being nice to others – and what’s nicer than giving free books to young readers? In the run-up to the launch of new sci-fi sensation Alex Detail’s Rebellion, Amazon and publishers Jacquie Jordan Inc fixed it for 10,000 readers to get a copy of author Darren Campo’s previous title completely free. Now that’s generous self-promotion.

Los Angeles Dentist, Dr. Kevin Sands, Announces Launch of New Website
When you’re a Beverley Hills dentist to the stars promoting your new website, nothing grabs more attention at the bottom of your news release than a rotating carousel of celebrity snaps taken in your office. In fact, readers might not even get as far as your extensive range of treatments, which include cosmetic… BRITNEY SPEARS! Sorry: might not even get into your CHARLIE SHEEN! ROBERT DOWNEY JR! What I mean is, readers… IS THAT SAWYER FROM LOST? Okay—I’m sold. Let the drilling commence.

Love HARO. I got a few media hits for the holidays that I wouldn’t have been able to reach on my own. Thanks!

Peter: In regard to free books, readers will want to know about Bookshare, an online accessible library with over 95,000 digital books and textbooks, free for U.S. students with qualified print disabilities. http://www.bookshare.orgnQualified print disabilities include blindness, low vision, a physical disability or reading disability. Some nice stuff in there. And what strikes me as a copywriter, of course, is the way things are put. It's interesting, for example, that Zest Food Florida has no hard news. Nonetheless, I clicked through (nice site, by the way).
