November Free Press Release Contest from PRWeb

November 15th, 2011
Tweet

Thanksgiving TurkeyLast month, in the spirit of Halloween, we did a contest where you had to write a press release about the zombie apocalypse in order to win a free premium PRWeb press release. The winner made great use of his free release by selling his product and giving part of the proceeds to benefit cancer. This month, the Thanksgiving holiday is upon us and I want to know:

What’s the #1 reason you’re thankful for PR?

Write a short blurb about it, take a picture of it, shoot a short video using your phone, or any other way you’d like to convey your answer to this question and post it in the comments section below. The best three will receive a free premium PRWeb press release (valued at $369), and the contest ends November 30, 2011. I can’t wait to see your answers!

Thankful that while the brand story can’t be controlled, it can be monitored and influenced with more effective PR tools than any other time in history. We’re living in our best days.

To say it gave me the best job I ever, seems a bit self-serving. I always appreciated that it let me help my clients tell their stories…be it new innovations that helped solve an environmenal issue, why you should donate to the cause or volunteer, or to why widget A was better than widget B. Even with SM, it’s all about the stories.

“The Entrepreneurial Thanksgiving.” -Why I am Thankful for PR! by Eric Johnson Founder of Javaboi Industries. In this post you will find a link that will direct you too a lengthy lesson that I took out of my stash of secrets from the Author of Rich Dad Poor Dad Robert Kiyosaki. I also made video explaining how today’s Public Relations can make or break a brand, and how I leveraged PR to my advantage in order to get a full refund on some faulty product! I hope you like it.

#1 reason why I am thankful for PR? They are the industry leader in putting out relevant, timely, and accurate press releases.

PR is the medium by which we effectively communicate our ideas, dreams, and goals. Through it we share, collaborate, learn, and grow. And that’s what it’s all about, right? For each of its benefits, I am thankful.

When I take a photo of cages in Mumbai holding 5-year-old girls about to be trafficked—PR lets me show the world.

When I can’t sleep knowing that a million kids a year are being sold into sex slavery—PR lets me make sure the world can’t sleep, either.

When I decide I absolutely have to do something about this horror and start a charity to reach kids before the traffickers do—PR lets me announce it to the world.

Five years later when we’ve developed an anti-trafficking awareness program and a child in a village where we’re teaching it is beheaded—PR lets me share my outrage with the world.

And when other kids around the world will never be trafficked because we really have reached them before the traffickers did—PR lets me shout it to the world.

PR is not just to tell the pretty stories. Sometimes we have to tell the ugly stories, too. PR lets us do that—and that’s the #1 reason I’m thankful for PR.
