Happy New Year!  Ever since the clock struck midnight on 2010, people have been letting the whole world know about their news with PRWeb – and here are five announcements that really grabbed our attention.

Craftmatic’s “Shop by Phone & Save” Marketing Program launches its First National Television Campaign In 2011
Craftmatic is taking relaxation to an entirely new level in 2011. Here’s the idea:  You lie in your bed, see Craftmatic’s TV commercial, realize how uncomfortable you are, and call Craftmatic to order one of their world-famous adjustable beds. That’s’ right: you can buy a new bed without ever standing up. All jokes aside, Craftmatic’s “Shop by Phone & Save” campaign has been extraordinarily successful and it’s great that they’re amplifying it online with PRWeb.

The Artist Toolbox Premieres Nationally on Public Television, January, 2011
A release about a new show called “The Artist Toolbox” could have very easily been lost in the shuffle with hundreds of other big-time announcements being published in the past couple days. However, this release shows that star power can go a long way. Names like John Legend, Jason Alexander and David Garrett catch your eye, and make this release a must-read.

Manhattan College Offering New Labor Studies Major in 2011
Many releases that we feature in our top five are quirky, funny or cute.  This release isn’t special for any of those reasons – instead, this release caught our eye because of its depth of information and stellar format.  The announcement is timely, relevant, organized and well-written – to stick with the education theme, it’s PR 101.

iToiletstand for iPads, Tablets and Other Electronic Devices Coming in 2011
What can we say about this release?  The headline and picture say it all.  The release is engaging, and it was certainly a wise move to put this angled iPad stand’s nickname, “iToiletstand,” in the headline.  But, come on… kudos goes to the people who assigned the special washroom function to this product – after that, the release really wrote itself.

Promgirl.net Announces Launch of 2011 Prom Dresses Line
This has all the ingredients of a good release – solid headline, timely information, good use of multimedia.  So what makes this release go from good to great?  It’s simple: They answer the ever-important, “What’s in it for me?” question, listing all the advantages of the early launch of their 2011 dress line to give readers tangible reasons to buy a glamorous prom dress from their site.
