Yesterday, PRWeb learned a press release live on its site was fraudulent. PRWeb has turned over information regarding this release to the appropriate federal authorities.

PRWeb has levels of safeguards and redundancies to ensure that only verifiable, corporate-issued press releases ever make it to our news release distribution service, one of the largest news release services in the world. We continually improve and refine these safeguards, using both the latest technology, as well as human brainpower, to ensure our news release service remains one of the best sources of information. However, no safeguard is perfect, and a fraudulent release bypassed our processes.  We’ve already made additional changes to our processes to guard against this from happening again.
